Today we have another poem from contributor Jake C.

Humility

Confess your finiteness.

Though you beget new

Waves of protesters,

Reckon with elemental kin.

See every star as mortal.

Consider the mighty black hole

Slowly evaporating.

Admit you have not yet

Outdone the dinosaur.

Humbly accept

That space crushes

Or burns

Or freezes all.

Then with a tithe

Of your remaining breaths

Count and name each thing,

Big and tiny and linked,

That failed

Before your beginning.
