Does anyone know of a group helping these children:
What about groups helping other children of refugees?
What would you suggest?
And what can you do locally to help children closer to home?
I know, nothing that would let you lead a parade, but what we do to and for the least, we do to Christ.
I have a friend who supports LUMOS, a charity that helps children in orphanages and refugee camps. Not a charity I knew of, but she and her husband are social workers so will be looking into them further, but otherwise there is the UNHCR and UNICEF, who do much good.
Locally there are food banks often associated with schools, plenty for us to do.
In Italy I saw people had put baskets with groceries out front with a note saying ‘Take what you need, give what you can’.
Thanks Stephen for pointing out a real need. I do appreciate how the church a few years ago asked that members go lend help to refuges. I have seen a few pockets of some really taking this to heart and really being true Christians and not just helping the refuges, but creating real relationships that I am sure will last a lifetime.
This is a great group that focuses on children. They do a lot of good.
