I’d like to thank the academy.
Can someone explain (from an expert bloggernacle academy voter’s perspective) why BCC merits such high status? Not anti-BCC, just curious–as a mostly BCC-lurker. I know the occasional cross-posts from Hawkgrrl are one likely factor.
I’m so honored!! This victory could be my undoing though–how will I muster the energy to write long posts when I win for the shortest one I’ve ever written. 😀
It’s a popularity contest, Rigel. We’re clearly the best-looking bloggers in the blogosphere. Style over substance wins every time.
Not that I want BCC to lose the award but didn’t FMH get more votes?
“Can someone explain (from an expert bloggernacle academy voter’s perspective) why BCC merits such high status?”
Come on, in the two days we have had comments from people claiming homosexuals wanted to burn down libraries with their erotic porn, defended genocide, said there was nothing “icky” about JS marrying teenage girls, and calling us “a disgusting hive of offensive people.”
Surely we know how to host a party! 😉
Hmmm…how to respond to an “award” for making comments that were apparently unwelcome and unwanted? How lovely and encouraging. Yay, it doth make my bosom burn within me…
Nick – I think it is just about your commenting portfolio. Time to diversify?
Don’t mind me. I’m just being sensitive, at a time when I’m consciously trying to shift my online persona. 🙂
“I’m just being sensitive”
Nick, there are a couple of offensive jokes just begging to be said 😀 , but I respect you too much to let my twisted sense of humor out of its cage. I appreciate your comment and believe you won’t win that award in the future, fwiw (probably not much).
Nice! I feel greatly honored to have received this major award for merely having stolen and gathered the humor of others funnier than I.
Looks like I lost on both nominations, I’ll just have to try harder.
Will,
If this were south Texas and I could have voted as often as I wanted, you would have won in a landslide.
Hey thanks guys.
Fun Fact about that “McNaughton Idea Journal” post: A few months after the fact, after the comments had been closed, Brother McNaughton was Googling himself one morning apparently at about 6 am and found that thread, unable to comment, he sent me a decent sized email explaining that he just wants to be understood. I didn’t write him back of course because he’s clearly insane and I am not stupid.
Also he blocked me on Facebook for suggesting multiple times that he do a painting of Obama being chased by giant spiders.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Never such a travesty of elections and retracting a call after was made since Bush v. Gore!!!!1!!!!!1 Pitchforks, pistols at dawn, etc etc.
[throws down white handkerchief] (or is it supposed to be a glove?)
I nominate Brother Matsby’s response in the this thread for some sort of award, for it entertained me greatly.
I second Sara’s nomination.
Can you do a post-awards show addition of some kind?
Ziff, if you come back to this thread, please mark Gatsby’s comment to quote in the next annual compilation.
Sorry, I second Zara’s nomination.
Ray, done and done!
Begun, the Meme Wars have.

W&T bloggers, care to weigh in on this travesty? (in meme)
So I am assuming there was a mix up at some point and BBC thought they won but FMH did? The memes are (searching for adult word for YoMama jokes at kindergarten level and fails) definitely real.
So what were the final votes in that category?
Dratted hanging chads! Last time we count votes from Florida! 😀
@Julia, the original version of this post here at W&T announced that BCC was the winner of “Best Big Blog.” Only when (our own!) Aaron R pointed out that that announcement didn’t match the vote result was the post updated.
It just wouldn’t be right without some sort of scandal! I’m glad to see BCC is paying attention, and frankly that post of Cynthia’s was pretty dang funny! I’ll nominate hers for next year’s funniest post!!!
So now that I’m a winner, how do I go about putting my picture on the Wheaties box and then posting the thing on my blog?
Please, will some of you young whippersnappers who understand this interweb thing show me how it’s done?
’tis a gauntlet, Cynthia (#16).
MH #25, Yup, hilarious.
What we win an award, we’re so excited! It’s like 1978 all over again! 😉 Thanks W&T
