Normally, this is where we do our weekend poll, but we’re running out of ideas. What poll question would you like to know about how our readers feel? While we’re at it, what do you like about our blog? What don’t you like? What would you like to see more or less of? Let’s hear from you!
What would you like?

what type of Mormon are you (the reader) TMB? ExMo? NOM? Jack? I’ve seriously wondered what belief structure most readers/posters of this forumn believe, and how they see themselves…
Based on the number of “likes” received on comments on the “A Response to the Letter Read in Wards Last Sunday”, it seems to me that this site is predominantly liberal minded members of the church. If I had to guess, I think most readers of this site are Mormons who think it’s ok to have questions, perhaps even serious doubts, and are willing to disagree (at least to some extent) with the hard liner Mormons. I think TBMs are less likely to frequent this site than more liberal minded Mormons. Similarly, I think atheists and ex Mormons are less likely to visit it than semi-active to active liberal Mormons. But that’s just my take based on what seem to be the most popular views.
As a note, the response was shared to several locations on Facebook. So a lot of the likes, readers, and commenters may have been new visitors to the site. Hopefully, they will keep reading!
And if y’all like what you read, like us on Facebook or share your favorite links
Who you would like to see called as the two new Apostles? Word is one of them is billionaire Robert Gay. Someone from South America? Or Asia? Why?
Are we seeing the fulfillment of Ezekiel’s prophecy with recent events in Persia (Iran) Russia, North Africia, Iraq and Syria?
Where did the events of the Book of Mormon take place? Some claim South America: others Mexico, Panama, New York, Midwestern States (heartland) and some Sri Lanka of all places. issues include animal life, DNA evidence, geographical clues from the Book of Mormon.
Lots more, got meetings at 6:30
One-issue poll: How many know what a “Jack” Mormon is? How long ago would you estimate you last heard it used–In a conversation? In a talk or testimony from the pulpit?
In my experience it has long since faded from use. So much so that when an older (60+) woman used it in her testimony last week I wondered how many listeners even knew what it meant.
Regarding jack Mormon.
I have heard “jack” Mormon used recently, mostly in the bloggernacle. It is usually confusing, and never means the same as it did in the 19th century (a non-member sympathizer to the Mormon cause), as that meaning has no relevance in today’s world where mormons don’t face persecution.
Any poll that uses the term jack Mormon will need to either clarify the meaning or ask readers what they think if means.
How do we see the place of heavenly mother. I for example see her as equal in power and authority with heavenly father. Equal because, “All are alike unto God black and white bond and free, male and female , gay and straight” and power and authority because in the endowment both men and women wear the robes of the priesthood so they both can officiate in the ordinances of that priesthood. if THIS VIEW IS RIGHT PATRIACHY IS WRONG?
Should the next Prophet be chosen by tradition, or by the Lord. If you think the Lord has anything to do with the present system, HOW? WE NEED/ AND SURELY THE LORD DOES, A VIBRANT CAPABLE, LEADER WHO CAN TELL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE GOSPEL, AND CONSERVATIVE CULTURE.
I would like to see a discussion of why so many members vote as a republican. I know they will bring up abortion but the actual record of political parties doing something is not clear cut. I see it as indication of people who think they are supposed to vote that way as opposed to independent thinking.
Church doctrine – any of it – from the garden of Eden to the battle of the great God.
Correction – the third ‘of’ should have been ‘through’.
