Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Cheers, my friend! 🙂
Santa bought my lovely husband a new knee! We have 3 of our kids under our roof. They have been lovely to each other and we plan a round of ‘Crimes against Humanity’ with Christmas dinner.
They love plastic, and will be gifting it profusely and would prefer junk to the good food , mostly home grown, we prepare. Gotta love ’em. Not a spiritual yearning amongst them. Seems to make them happier people. Did I mention my son works for big pharma?
Who knew?!
I attended a ward in California yesterday. Just a one-hour sacrament meeting. Just singing, with some narration in between and a closing testimony by a ward member. That seems to have become the norm throughout the Church for Christmas week services. Much nicer than slogging through a two- or three-hour string of meetings just because that’s what we do on Sunday, holiday or no holiday.
One of my sons detested me during his high school years, partly both of our faults. A couple of months ago he asked me if I want to climb a mountain with him which will require considerable time to train and new equipment. For Christmas we both got boring gear but we’re both looking forward to doing something together for the first time in a while. It’s been a good Christmas.
I’m happy my job has been going well. Feel very useful in this support role and enjoying the chance to rub shoulders with medical staff as they care for patients. As I hoped would happen, the neighborhood cat chose to hang out at my place Christmas morning (treat bribes probably extended his stay 😉 I’ve been able to have some heartfelt interactions with dear ones as well. Oh… and breakfast casserole!
